Choosing your captain – Gameweek 3

Last week’s captaincy options didn’t perform so well. Only Soldado got any attacking returns. After a very average Gameweek, we look forward to the next Gameweek and put forward three more armband options.

Sergio Aguero

After being shocked by the new boys from Cardiff, Manchester City will undoubtedly look to overturn their defeat. Pellegrini retained his striking force upfront in Dzeko and Aguero for the trip to Cardiff. Though Dzeko was subbed off for Negredo in the second half, Aguero was provided with the full 90 minutes and looks to have nailed down one of the 2 spots upfront.

With City scoring 6 goals in their opening 2 games, they look full of goals. Welcoming Hull City this week, they will surely look to score a few past them and get back to winning ways, and Aguero, if given another start, could easily bag some attacking returns this week.

Theo Walcott

Arsenal bagged their first win of the season by beating Fulham 3-1 away at Craven Cottage thanks to a brace by Lukas Podolski and a goal from Giroud. Even though Walcott didn’t get a goal, he was, by far, the best player on the pitch. Making runs and getting a handful of shots at goal, he was unlucky not to have opened his tally for the season.

With Spurs playing a highline in defence, Walcott can finally open his tally, as the North London Derby generally sees more than 2 goals on average, with Arsenal winning 5-2 twice in the last 2 seasons. If Walcott can show the form he showed against Fulham, there’s no doubt that he’ll reward his suitors with a double-digit haul.

Gamble of the Week – Michu

Swansea haven’t looked good in their opening games at all, with only 1 goal scored in their opening 2 games. There’s no doubt that Laudrup would want his side to finally bag a win, and there’s no doubt that their attack relies on Michu’s form.

Ben Foster’s been ruled out for 3 months, and there’s no doubt that Michu will look to test the incoming reserve goalkeeper to finally get on the score sheet and open his tally for the season. He could prove to be a really good armband punt if he can put on his scoring shoes this weekend.
