Welcome to the new FPL Dugout

Notice something different? Well, you’d be right!

Yes, the new FPL Dugout is here, refreshed with a brand new look, a new squad of writers, and packed with new features and games.

Here’s what you can expect from your new FPL Dugout.

New writing team

FPL Dugout regulars Dudu, Mesh, Shiva and Marco del Wattsio have come on board as regular contributors, alongside Sleno and myself.

I’m really delighted to have these guys on board the writing team. They know FPL Dugout inside out, and they are all top class fantasy managers, with every one of them finishing within the top 27,000 last season.

Welcome aboard lads, and thank you for all your hard work in getting the new site ready!

New features

We’ve got two new weekly articles for you, delivered by a different regular contributor each week.

We’ll kick off the week with a ‘Gameweek Preview’, looking ahead to the upcoming Gameweek, and offering opinion on all the talking points, including transfer strategies, bandwagons, fixtures versus form, and much more. We’ll look to answer all those nagging questions you get before a Gameweek.

Then as the deadline approaches, the same regular contributor will return with their ‘Punt of the Week’, where we’ll look for someone a bit different, and beyond the obvious, who we feel could be worth investment.

We’ve also got plenty of semi-regular articles and a constant stream of one-off features to bring you over the season – so much to look forward to!

New games

Sleno, our “Games Master”, hasn’t rested on the storming success of the first FPL Dugout Champions League last season, and has come up with two brand new games.

We’ve introduced an FPL Dugout FA Cup and FPL Dugout League Cup, to complete the set, while the FPL Dugout Champions League will return later in the season.

Current FPL Dugout League Champion and FPL Dugout regular Geordie Ash will fancy his chances of the quadruple, while Bossdrum will no doubt defend his FPL Dugout Champions League crown with the same vigour he won it with.

MSA Prediction Game will also be back with a new format to be announced soon.

New design

FPL Dugout has been completely redesigned to improve your browsing experience, and build on the simplicity of the site.

We have surfaced the most important parts of the site, so the articles and games are all accessible from the new top menu, instead of being hidden away down the bottom right.

We’ve made a plethora of subtle improvements, including to the chat, where you can now submit messages by pressing enter instead of the ‘Add Comment’ button.

Thanks to Ben Sampson for these continuous improvements to the already amazing chat!

So there you have it. FPL Dugout is back, bigger and better than before – and this is just the start as we look to continually improve the site.

Keep an eye on the site for the start of our pre-season preparation articles, then roll on the launch of Fantasy Premier League 2012/13!
