Fantasy Premier League 2012/13 edges nearer - and so does a new FPL Dugout

We are fast approaching the launch of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) 2012/13.

The new game is expected to launch mid-July (hopefully with fewer glitches this year!), and with the fixtures already out, we can start to plan our assault on next season.

I’m sure we’ll see the usual sprinkle of rule tweaks. Will the second wildcard stay? Should players really lose out on bonus points because of a few shots off target? We can only wait and see.

Then there’s the new player prices. Will Robin van Persie, who finished on a huge 269 points last season, start the season at £14m? Newcastle’s Papiss Cisse burst onto the scene at £7m last season, but can surely be expected to start at least £9m this time.

So plenty to look forward to as the July launch gets closer – but that’s not everything: FPL Dugout is also re-launching!

We have been working hard behind the scenes since May to improve our FPL Dugout website, and build on the success of our community here.

The new site has a brand new design, and we’re rolling out several new features, including new regular articles and brand new games. A new writing team is in place to deliver these features.

We expect to launch the new site on the weekend of 7/8 July – so look out for that!

* Edit on 05/07/12: Fantasy Premier League 2012/13 is to launch within the next 2 weeks, and FPL Dugout has now relaunched.
