Scotty B's player picks - Gameweek 8

After the very boring international break that nobody likes it is back to the nitty gritty of the Premier League for Gameweek 8.

I’m sure not everybody would agree with me but here are a couple of players for each position I believe will be good picks for the week ahead.

Joe Hart

May not be an obvious choice to some people but in Joe Hart you have a Man City goalie who will keep a lot of clean sheets and apart from Man Utd (away) they have a decent run of fixtures including home games with Norwich and Newcastle.

As for this week they always seem to beat Aston Villa convincingly at home and with Toure back to fitness and the full backs often alternating you have a guaranteed number of clean sheets and regardless of his expensive price it is worth it.

Wojciech Szczesny

3 of his next 4 fixtures are at home to Stoke, Sunderland and West Brom. Even given Arsenal’s poor defensive displays he seems a very good purchase at just £5.9m.

Anton Ferdinand

Again 2 home fixtures coming up for the younger Ferdinand brother and even after his terrible -1 score last week he has had a steady start to the season and tends to get bonus points quite often and at £4.6m seems a bargain in my book.

Jose Enrique

Man Utd up next for the Spanish left back which will be tough to keep a clean sheet but there’s a good chance he will. I fancy a 0-0 in this fixture this time.

After this though Swansea, Norwich and West Brom will be the opposition with the first and the latter coming at home and again a very decent price at just £5.1m especially with the assists he is starting to chip in with too.

Rafael Van der Vaart

Nothing to do with fixtures or price with this guy, just get the impression that after 2 in his last 2 and his recent comments in the press he is really going to kick on and impress over the next few weeks.

Ramires

Been watching him of late and he is getting in and around the box a lot more this season scoring a couple the other week and could have had a few more. Definitely one to watch.

Leon Best

Been very impressed with Besty for a while now stretching back to the middle of last season which he has then continued into this, with 2 home games coming up and a very shrewd price get Besty in your starting XI – he is going to be playing 90 mins and finding the net.

Darren Bent

Been quite out of sorts for a while now and always seems to score against the big teams (Man City away next) then he has beautiful home fixtures against West Brom and Norwich. Expect Benty to come good over the next few weeks.

Good luck everyone and remember its all about opinions!
