FPL Dugout team interview - which team will win the league, and which teams will get relegated?

You’ve heard our thoughts on which players are first on our team sheets, which player could be bargain of the season, and which player is most overpriced.

Now we discuss who we think will win the league and get relegated.

Who do you think will be Champions?

Sleno says Man City

The first win is always the hardest. Now they have the confidence, Man City will come out strong. But Fergie doesn’t like losing, especially to City, so he has already spent a fair chunk, and with a couple more in they might run it all the way. Don’t count out Chelsea either, but City just to sneak over the line again.

It’s hard to look past the top two. I can’t see United not winning the title back and claiming their 20th title. Much will depend on the reliance of the old guard again and if they can use them sparingly and keep that determination of old to ground out results this new young team will be a force for years to come.

Aaron says Man United

It’s the Sir Alex Ferguson factor, isn’t it? I can just see him winning back the title, by hook or by crook!

Who do you think will get relegated?

Sleno says Norwich, Reading and a surprise team

Norwich and Reading are banged on for me. They did well with good managers last season, but with not much strengthening over the summer, Norwich could be in for a long season.

I don’t think Reading have a good enough base. Pogrebnyak may get 10 goals or so, but not sure where else the goals are coming from.

Then it’s a race for the third relegation spot. Southampton have goals in them and it might be a surprise third team! Not the Hammers though!

Mesh says Aston Villa, West Ham and West Brom

Shiva says Wigan (sadly), Reading and Southampton

Marco says Wigan, Norwich and Reading

18th Wigan. Goals are going to be extremely hard to come by, especially having sold Hugo Rodallega and maybe Victor Moses. Franco Di Santo will have to improve on his 3 deflected goals a year to save Wigan but Martinez has got Wigan playing some really good stuff so anything is possible for the Latics!

19th Norwich. I don’t think Chris Hughton will continue Paul Lambert’s excellent record. Keeping Holt will be paramount if they are to survive but I think goals could be hard to come by.

20th Reading. The signing of Pavel Pogrebnyak caused a stir but apart from that nothing says they have really had a go at staying in the top flight. They will have to hope they can carry on their excellent defensive record or it could be a long season for the Royals.

Aaron says West Brom, Norwich and Reading

The loss of key players could finally seal Wigan’s fate this season, while Norwich could suffer second season syndrome, especially now Paul Lambert has departed.

Reading’s lack of quality worries me, and Southampton and West Ham seem far more equipped to stay up, especially with Sam Allardyce’s top flight experience for West Ham.

I am not convinced about Steve Clarke’s managerial ability at West Brom. He’s always been a number two and will face huge challenges to convert to a number one in the Premier League.
