FPL Dugout team interview - which player could be bargain of the season?
You’ve heard our thoughts on which players are first on our team sheets. Now we discuss bargain players.
Which player could be bargain of the season, and why?
Sleno says Steven Pienaar
If Southampton are the new Swansea then Clyne could be a bargain at 4.0m. But Pienaar at 6.5m and Everton might be my pick overall.
Mesh says Moussa Dembele
If he stays at Fulham, I’d like to think Dembele will step up with the departure of Murphy, and probably Dempsey. Categorised as a 6m midfielder, Dembele could prove value and be a team star.
Shiva says Lukas Podolski
He looks good at 8.5m especially when RVP leaves. So does Arteta. Kaboul at 5.5m looks good too, and he is likely to be a regular after his performances last season.
Marco says Steven Taylor
There are several players that could of won the vote for me. Big Brede Hangeland came close and offers an excellent home record and more than an eye for goal.
Rafael could also be the signing of the summer if he can nail down that right-back place at Old Trafford. Aaron Ramsay at 6m could be great business if Wilshere returns enabling the Welshman to get forward more often.
My winner though is Steven Taylor, injured for most of last season, and again with a clear eye for goal. If Newcastle can repeat last season’s heroics, Taylor will be in for some big points!
Aaron says Mark Noble
It seems we’re always in need of a cheap fifth midfielder (think Charlie Adam, Victor Moses, Nathan Dyer and Glyfi Sigurdsson of previous seasons), so Noble could prove a useful bargain at 5m – especially as he plays regularly, takes corners, free-kicks and penalties. Nothing to lose at that price!
