Did fantasy managers jump the 'Kun'?

Sergio ‘Kun’ Aguero’s Premier League debut was shockingly good. Perhaps the greatest Premier League debut in history.

The Argentinian scored a couple of goals and set up a goal in a 30 minute cameo at the end of the game. Incredible.

We then saw a huge amount of fantasy managers transfer Aguero into their squads. 33% of managers already own him now.

Quite rightly, some may say, but were fantasy managers jumping the ‘Kun’? Did we get carried away with Aguero’s debut against a tiring Swansea defence? And should we wait until he’s 100% fit?

Aguero started Man City’s match at Bolton, in Gameweek 2, but missed a couple of great chances and failed to have a shot on target in a disappointing 2 point return.

So, should we hold fire on bringing Aguero into our squads, or do we still need to get him in as soon as possible?

It’s tricky but I think fantasy managers are going to need him sooner rather than later.

Why is it tricky? We’re basically spoilt for choice up front at the moment. Rooney, van Persie, Suarez, Bent and Aguero, among others, are enticing options for the coming weeks, but we can’t have them all!

Aguero’s next 3 games are interesting. They’re a sandwich, made with hard crusty bread, but filled with a delicious strawberry jam filling.

I haven’t gone mad. Let me explain. Aguero has a couple of tricky away trips at Tottenham (Gameweek 3) and Fulham (Gameweek 5), but sandwiched in between that hard bread is a tasty home fixture against Wigan in Gameweek 4.

Are you prepared to go into Gameweek 4 without Aguero in your front line?

He’ll also have another match under his belt by then and you’d have to back him against one of the poorest defence’s in the league.

There’s still a few doubts in my mind though. Well, Edin Dzeko and Carlos Tevez doubts.

Dzeko is looking decent, with 3 goals in 3 games, and finally looks to be settling into the Premier League. Let’s not forget he cost £30m.

He’s also created 8 chances for his team, the most of any player this season. So you’d expect Dzeko to keep his place for the next few games.

We don’t know if Tevez is sticking around, but he’s a problem for us right now, replacing Aguero on 68 minutes of the Bolton game.

But I don’t think we have too many worries. Aguero is a top, top striker and Mancini will start him most of the time when he’s 100% fit.

So did fantasy managers jump the ‘Kun’? Perhaps a little but they won’t be too concerned when Aguero lines up for them in Gameweek 4…
