Chelsea and Reading off to a super start
We’ve not started the FPL season 12/13 yet and already there’s news of the first double gameweek of the season.
It involves Chelsea v Reading as the former face Athletico Madrid in the Super Cup. The original fixture was due for a Saturday September 1st kick off in gameweek 3. This has now been rearranged for the earlier date of Wednesday 22nd August, falling slap bang in gameweek 1, thus now leaving a blank for those two teams in Gameweek 3.
This will afford managers plenty of gametime to assess Chelsea’s new boys Hazard, Marin and surely Didier Drogba’s replacement. It will also give us some insight into how Di Matteo’s Chelsea will look for the season ahead. With opening fixtures of wig, RDG, NEW they will be in most managers thoughts and surely most managers will look to bring in 2 or 3 Chelsea and some Reading players to maximise their scoring potential from gameweek 1.
Not forgetting Reading of course as McDermott’s men return for another crack at the top flight. An opening game at home to Stoke provides the Royals an opportunity for 3 points as then trips to Chelsea and then Sunderland with the first pre-season regime under Martin O’Neill’s leadership not easy places to go. With players like Le Fondre and Harte offering potentially cheap attacking potential many eyes will be cast at the players at the Majedski stadium.
A talking point straight away for the start of the Fantasy Premier League new season as we count down to the launch of the new game. 14.0m for RVP? 11.0m for Cisse? 8.5m Torres and 45% ownership? We haven’t got too much longer to wait before we can find out!
