Player Reports
Recommended Player for Gameweek 37 – Tomas Rosicky (Arsenal)
After my recent successful endorsements of Petrov (17 points, GW 35) and van der Vaart (22 points, GW 36), I have decided to endorse another midfielder. My recommended player for Gameweek 37 may come as a mild surprise, nonetheless I am endorsing Arsenal’s Thomas Rosicky.
He may not have played many matches in the first half of the season, but Rosicky has recently shown signs of his world class talent in a reinvigorated Arsenal team.
Recommended Player for Gameweek 36 – Rafael van der Vaart
Gameweek 36 is a “Double Gameweek”, consisting of 14 matches. With this in mind I have decided to endorse a player whose team is involved in two matches. Not only that, but a player who is capable of making an impact. My recommended player for Gameweek 36 is Tottenham’s Rafael van der Vaart.
Of course Spurs’ league form has been woeful of late with only 2 wins from their last 10 matches. This is quite a remarkable down turn for a team that were effectively outside title challengers as recent as mid-February.
However, I believe that Tottenham will do their best to not let things slip further in their pursuit for 4th position in the Premier League.
Recommended Player for Gameweek 35 – Martin Petrov
After my 2 point fail from a player battling against relegation a few weeks back, I have decided to take a calculated risk and endorse another player in a similar situation.
My recommended player for Gameweek 35 is Bolton’s Martin Petrov. He may not have been a prolific goalscorer this season, but he is arguably Bolton’s most important midfielder. He has only scored 2 goals this season with 6 assists. Petrov probably should have done a lot better, but what else can you do in a struggling team that has lacked creativity and a natural goal poacher upfront?
Double Gameweeks Galore! Rescheduled Fixtures Update and Potential Buys
It’s a rocket? It’s a star? No! It’s 9 Double Gameweeks and all but one has been slotted to GW 36!
The news came as a huge surprise to everyone as we all thought the fixtures in doubt for GW 34 would simply be moved into a midweek date as was the case last time out.
The following teams are confirmed to have a Double Gameweek slotted for GW 36:
Liverpool
Chelsea
Newcastle
Tottenham
Bolton (Bolton also have a DGW on GW 35 as well)
Fulham
Stoke
Everton
Few notes before we start:
- I will abbreviate Double Gameweek (DGW) and Gameweek (GW) throughout the article
- I know this is quite an early article when it’s actually in Gameweek 36 but you should start planning from now itself
- There’s so much to get through in this article so bare with me!
* Takes Deep Breath In *
Rooney, Van Persie… so who deserves that valuable 3rd spot forward in your team?
Emile Heskey (£5.3)
“Heskey is in the hottest form of his life.” That right there is a direct quote courtesy of Heskey’s Chair in the Aston Villa dugout.
Yes sir, from 19 total appearances he’s come off the bench 6 times and was an unused substitute on 5 occasions.
That seat has been getting nice and cosy so you’ve got to give it to that chair – its spot on!
Heskey also has a woeful passing accuracy of just 60% which is one of the worst in the league, proving what a great guy he is!
Gifting the ball to the opposition? What a guy, what a guy. That is classy manners for a 34 year old. Why wouldn’t you buy him?
Recommended Player for Gameweek 31 – Ryo Miyaichi
With Gameweek 31 upon us I didn’t think that I would be endorsing a player from a team battling against relegation.
However with some valid reasons at hand I have decided to endorse Bolton’s Ryo Miyaichi (on loan from Arsenal).
Recommended Player for Gameweek 30 – Kieran Gibbs
Differentials count with points at a premium during this stage of the season. I have decided to endorse an up-and-coming England international for Gameweek 30 who is selected by a relatively small amount of FPL managers.
If he doesn’t make the Euro 2012 England squad he will almost certainly play for Team GB at the London 2012 Olympics. It’s Arsenal’s Kieran Gibbs.
Differential Zone: Arsenal
Blah Blah Blah… RVP is all we need from Arsenal Dudu!
57. The number of goals Arsenal has scored, a whopping 26 of them coming from a certain Robin van Persie.
8. The number of clean sheets Arsenal has managed to keep from 28 games.
It’s no surprise then that many Fantasy Managers believe that Van Persie is the only Arsenal coverage you’ll ever require.
And who can blame them? With a very one dimensional attack source and Arsenal continuing to leak goals its been working out fine!
